While homebrew releases for the PSVita have been slowing down a bit recently, some developers are still working hard to give the scene more and more great homebrew. This time around, developer dragaron (who also created Blackout and Xerox for the Vita), has released Sudorku.
What is Sudorku?
As the name suggests, this is yet another Sudoku game for the PSVita but it has lots to offer! Sudorku for the PSVita has the following features:
- Touch controls as dragaron seems to love using the Vita’s touchscreen. This means that the Vita’s touch screen now has a handful or more useful purposes! Unlike Hendoku, you can’t use L/R to control change/input numbers which was something I really liked.
- The ability to take small notes in grid cells so that you could easily keep track of what the possible answer may be without making a mess of your Sudoku puzzle. A very nice feature that really shows how polished this game is.
- The ability to theme the game on the fly and have your changes dynamically get outputted on screen! There’s an RGB table that you have to mess around with to theme the game but it’s quite simple and themes are saved (you can do up to 10).
- 201 different puzzles (not randomly generated) varying from Easy to Extreme difficulty. Trust me, they’re enough to keep you occupied for a while.
- The best time for each 9×9 puzzle is recorded.
Without any doubt, this port of Sudoku is the most polished one out of the lot (others are Hendoku and VitaSudoku, good ports but nowhere as polished). This homebrew game is interpreted with ONELua.
How do I get this homebrew?
To get this homebrew, you simply need to download the VPK from the link below and install it on your PSVita through VitaShell. If you have any issues with this homebrew, just report them to ‘dragaron’ through the GitHub (Issues tab) link below. DownloadEnabler (plugin for the Vita’s browser to let you download everything) may be used to get this homebrew without using a computer.

N.B: As this uses ONELua as its interpreter, it won’t ever be on VitaDB.
